About Sudan

Civil war in Sudan has led to inadequate health services and lack of HIV/AIDS education. The spread of HIV is accelerated by family separation, war-related rape and other factors.

MCC Supports:

Sudan Council of Churches

Through a project that will be jointly implemented with the Sudanese Association of People Living with AIDS, the Council of Churches will support the school needs of children that have been orphaned by AIDS. The Association provides a continuum of care, education, and support to those affected by AIDS in Sudan. Through this partnership, MCC will contribute specifically to school fees and uniforms for 200 children in the city of Juba.

If contributions to a project exceed the amount needed, MCC will use the donations to support similar projects.
